Challenge

One billion people live without access to grid power. We wanted to put reliable power and light directly into people's hands, in a product simple and affordable enough to reach them.

What we did

We designed Buffalito, a compact handheld power bank that charges your phone, works as a torch, and becomes a lamp. Even the packaging was designed to work: the box folds into a lampshade, so nothing goes to waste and the product is useful from the moment it's opened.
