The lack of space in hospitals has created a critical shortage of patient handover rooms.
Hospitals have therefore had to convert rooms which haven’t been designed for this function whilst keeping their original role such as staff rooms. These are often poorly equipped due to storage space and lack all the features required.
The goal was to design a space which could in effect be either a staff room, handover room or both.
It needed to be compact due to the lack of space, simple to clean and allow for different types of storage.
